The Basics

Getting Started With Us

Just call us at (580) 399-7319 or fill out the form on our contact page. We'll set up a free consultation, come look at your project in person — whether it's a roof, a remodel, or a new build — and get you an honest written estimate with no obligation.

We're based in Wewoka and serve a 150-mile radius around Shawnee. That covers Seminole, Pottawatomie, Hughes, Okfuskee, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties — including Shawnee, Seminole, Tecumseh, Ada, Holdenville, Prague, Norman, and dozens of communities in between. If you're not sure whether we cover your town, give us a call.

It depends on the job, but we're known for working fast without cutting corners. Most roof replacements are done in 1–2 days. A bathroom remodel typically runs a few days to a week, kitchens one to three weeks, and new builds and barndominiums several months. You'll get a realistic timeline in your estimate, and we stick to it.

Yes. Every project starts with a free, detailed written estimate. We walk the job, measure it ourselves, and give you real numbers up front — no hidden fees, no surprise change orders halfway through the work.

Yes, Smith Construction Services, LLC is fully licensed and insured for construction and roofing work in Oklahoma. We're happy to provide proof of insurance before any work begins.

We're a family-owned company — Rick and Ashlee Smith are personally involved in every project. You deal directly with the owners, not a call center or a salesperson, and our crew treats your home like it's our own. That's a big reason we hold a 5.0-star rating on Google.

Call or text us at (580) 399-7319, email SmithConstructionok@gmail.com, or use the form on this page. We respond to every inquiry quickly — usually the same day.

No. Consultations, roof inspections, and estimates are always free. We'll look at your project, answer your questions, and give you a written quote with zero obligation.

Roofing

Roof Replacement, Repair & Metal Roofing

Most residential roof replacements in the Shawnee and Wewoka area take us just 1–2 days. We tear off the old roof, inspect and repair the decking, install the new roofing system, and haul away every scrap of debris in our own roll-off container — several of our Google reviews mention how fast and clean the process was.

If your shingles are curling, losing granules, or over 15–20 years old — or if hail has bruised large sections — replacement usually makes more financial sense than repeated repairs. We'll do a free honest inspection and tell you straight which option is right. We never sell you a new roof you don't need.

We install architectural shingles and roofing systems rated for the high winds and hailstorms central Oklahoma sees every spring. Proper decking, underlayment, and nailing patterns matter as much as the shingle itself, and we do all of it to manufacturer spec so your warranty holds up.

Yes. If your roof was damaged by hail or wind, we'll document the damage, meet your insurance adjuster on site, and make sure the scope of the claim actually covers what your roof needs.

Fast. Leaks don't wait, and neither do we — one of our Google reviewers had a leak assessed and solved quickly with the crew cleaning up completely afterward. Call us at (580) 399-7319 and we'll get eyes on it as soon as possible, usually within a day or two.

We'll tell you honestly. If the roof has years of life left, a proper repair is money well spent. If it's at the end of its life, we'll show you why and quote a replacement — but the choice is always yours, with no pressure either way.

A properly installed metal roof will last 40–70 years — two to three times the life of asphalt shingles. It sheds hail better, handles our wind, reflects summer heat to lower cooling bills, and it's why so many rural homes and barndominiums around Seminole County are going metal.

In some cases yes, but we usually recommend a full tear-off so we can inspect the decking underneath — especially on older homes around Wewoka and Shawnee. Covering rotten decking with new metal just locks in the problem. We'll assess your roof and give you a straight answer.

Building

New Homes, Barndominiums & Additions

Absolutely — that's a big part of what we do. We build on acreage all across Seminole, Pottawatomie, and Hughes counties, and we handle the realities of rural builds: site prep, long drives, water wells, septic coordination, and rural utility connections.

Most of our new home builds take four to eight months depending on size, weather, and finish selections. We give you a realistic schedule up front and keep you updated at every stage, from dirt work to final walkthrough.

The details. Custom hickory cabinets, real wood accent walls, stone fireplaces, custom-built doors — we do our own finish carpentry in-house instead of settling for big-box stock. Your home ends up with character you simply can't buy in a spec house.

They're practical for rural living: metal roofs and exteriors stand up to Oklahoma hail and wind, open floor plans fit family life, they go up faster than conventional builds, and cost per square foot is often lower. On acreage around Wewoka, Shawnee, and Seminole, a barndo just makes sense.

We do complete, turnkey barndominiums — from slab and steel to fully finished interiors with custom cabinets, tile showers, wood accent walls, and stone fireplaces. Take a look at our gallery: those finished barndo interiors are our own work, right here in the Wewoka area.

Generally less per square foot than a comparable conventional home, but the final number depends on size, slab, spans, and interior finish level. We'll price your specific plan honestly during a free consultation — no inflated 'starting at' teaser numbers.

Yes — more lenders than ever offer construction loans for barndominiums, especially fully finished residential builds like ours. We can walk you through what lenders typically want to see, including detailed plans and a builder contract.

Around here, usually yes. With land and homes in Seminole and Pottawatomie counties often held for generations, adding a master suite, in-law space, or second living area lets you stay where you're rooted — and it's typically cheaper than buying, moving, and paying today's rates.

Remodeling

Kitchens, Bathrooms & Whole-Home Remodels

Most of our kitchen remodels run one to three weeks depending on scope — cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, and plumbing all factor in. One Google reviewer had us do a full kitchen and bathroom remodel and called the workmanship 'superior.' We keep the timeline tight and the site clean.

Both. We're one of the few contractors in the Shawnee–Wewoka area that builds true custom cabinets in-house — hickory, oak, painted shaker, whatever fits your home. If manufactured cabinets fit your budget better, we'll source and install those with the same care.

Yes — it's one of our most requested projects. We've converted old tubs into beautiful custom tile walk-in showers with built-in niches and glass panels all over the area. One reviewer had us replace a tub with a walk-in shower, two toilets, and more in just 3½ days.

A straightforward refresh costs far less than a full gut with custom tile — and we've done both all over Seminole and Pottawatomie counties. We'll look at your space, listen to what you want, and give you a free itemized estimate so you know exactly where every dollar goes.

Yes. We regularly take on complete renovations — kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, windows, doors, trim, and roofing under one contract with one crew. One reviewer had us replace seven windows, doors, a tub, toilets, and a hot water tank in under four days.

All the time. Older homes around Wewoka, Seminole, and Holdenville have great bones but often need updated wiring-era walls opened up, level floors, modern kitchens and baths, and new roofs. We know how to modernize a farmhouse without stripping away its character.

A detailed written scope before we start, honest allowances for materials, and direct communication with the owners — Rick and Ashlee — throughout the job. If we find something unexpected behind a wall, you hear about it the same day with options and real prices.

Carpentry & More

Cabinets, Windows, Doors & Decks

Yes — true custom cabinetry, built and finished by hand. The hickory kitchen and bathroom cabinets in our gallery were built by our crew, not ordered from a catalog. We also build custom doors, wood accent walls, wainscoting, and built-ins.

Hickory is a local favorite for its durability and rustic grain — you'll see it throughout our barndominium projects — but we also work in oak, pine, maple, and painted finishes. We'll help you pick a species and finish that fits your home and holds up to real life.

A full house of windows typically takes us just a day or two. One of our Google reviewers had seven windows replaced — along with doors and bathroom fixtures — in three and a half days total. We work fast, seal everything properly, and clean up completely.

In Oklahoma, yes — noticeably. Double-pane low-E vinyl windows cut summer heat gain and winter drafts dramatically compared to the single-pane aluminum windows still common in older homes around Seminole and Pottawatomie counties. Most homeowners feel the difference the first month.

Yes — entry doors, back doors, storm doors, patio doors, and interior doors. We handle the full job: removal, framing corrections, hanging, hardware, weatherstripping, and trim. We can even build fully custom wood doors in-house for a one-of-a-kind entry.

Pressure-treated pine is the workhorse — affordable and durable when properly sealed. Cedar looks beautiful, and composite decking costs more up front but shrugs off our sun and storms with almost no maintenance. We build and repair all three.

If the frame and footings are sound, absolutely — we replace decking boards, railings, and stairs all the time. If the structure underneath is rotten or undersized, we'll show you exactly what we found and quote a rebuild that's safe and up to code.
